Jeremy is incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about the mountains and it shows in everything he does. He clearly loves and respects this area. He even picked up trash others left behind which tells you a lot about his character. We did a tagalong tour and as someone who is new to Jeep trails, I cannot say enough about how safe and comfortable I felt following Jeremy through the mountains. He communicated with us by walkie-talkie the entire way; helped guide us through trails, and somehow managed to give us a history and geology lesson along the way. He was patient, encouraging and never once was condescending about my lack of experience. We had such a great time on our first tour, we booked a second and we are so glad we did. Jeremy is freakin’ fantastic and Bruno was the consummate professional. If you are coming to Crested Butte and want to experience the mountains with someone who respects and loves them, BOOK THE TOUR. Jeremy, Ben and I made it to Cinnamon and Engineers Pass in the truck. 10/10 do not recommend!

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We really enjoyed our half day jeep tour with JJ's Jeeps during our most recent visit to Crested Butte. Our guide, Anakin, picked us up from our Bed and Breakfast on time and had a cooler full of snacks and beverages for us. Anakin was very knowledgeable of Crested Butte, Gunnison Valley, and the wildflowers. He was very engaging throughout the tour and we felt safe the entire time.  If you are looking for an offroading experience and to check out higher elevations, we highly recommend JJ's Jeeps! We can't wait to book another tour with them the next time we are in Gunnison Valley.

His knowledge of the area, history and wildflowers was amazing.  He arrived right on time, with Bruno his well behaved dog.  Took us on a great trip with some snacks. We took a 1/2 day tour with JJ Jeeps and were lucky enough to have the owner, Jeremy as our driver. He took us on a beautiful loop drive and really let us take our time at the places we stopped. Jeremy is very knowledgeable about local history, plants, flowers and the geology of the area. We learned a lot and laughed a lot. He had drinks and snacks in a cooler for our group. He also took several pictures of us during the tour which we will enjoy for years to come. I highly recommend JJ Jeep tours. You will not be disappointed!

While in Crested Butte over the weekend, as a last minute thought, I called up JJ's Jeep to see if Jeremy had an opening for four people to go jeeping and he did.  Oh, what fun!!  Jeremy kindly picked us up at our rental and away we went.  It was a beautiful day so were able to take the top off and enjoy the scenery as well as the breeze in our face.  Along with the scenery, Jeremy's knowledge of history, geology, trees, plants, you name it, added so much more to just going 4-wheeling.  He definitely is very knowledgeable.  Plus, with going over water, rocks, he knew how to handle the jeep and we all felt very safe.  An added touch, his his dog Bruno joined us for the ride.  Four hours later, we were back at the house safe and sound and talking about how wonderful the 1/2 day trip was.  We highly recommend contacting JJ's Jeep for a very enjoyable ride.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I booked a half day tour from Mt Crested Butte to Schofield Pass with JJ’s Jeep Tours in early October, 2025. The purpose was to see and photograph the area’s many spectacular alpine views. Jeremy of JJ’s Jeep Tours picked me up at my hotel in Mt Crested Butte. We basically took Rt 317 to Schofield Pass and then  Slate River Road back to Mt Crested Butte making many stops and side trips along the way. Jeremy is easy going and great company. He customized the tour to fit my interests and knows the area extremely well. Since  he’s also a photographer, he has a good sense of composition and knows lots of great photography spots which we visited. I considered driving the route myself in a rental SUV, but was quickly glad I did not. It was great being able to relax and enjoy the landscape and shooting instead of not constantly worrying about getting lost or getting stuck which would have ruined my trip. The route has sketchy signage at best, and long stretches of narrow, rough mountain road with steep drop-offs that are really not passable except in a 4WD Jeep driven by a skilled driver like Jeremy.  Plus, we went many places I would never have seen or shot by myself. The tour was a highlight of my trip to Colorado and well worth my time and money. I had a great time and captured lots of wonderful images. Very Highly recommended

In an area of Colorado we know pretty well, Jeremy still had incredible insights into the history and the geology of the mountains and we were actually much smarter after having taken his tour.  He is a skilled driver, an entertaining teacher and obviously a good human who invests time in many local worthy endeavors.  Improve your life and take a tour with JJ's Jeeps!  We will schedule a second tour with them as soon as possible.
